You might have heard about people resigning their jobs and becoming full time ministers for God. But have you ever heard of resigning secured jobs to know more about the salvation of God?
In 1948, Bhushanam Bandi, a teacher, along with his wife Aparanji, a nurse, resigned their jobs in the city of Visakhapatnam, India. Because they were stirred in their hearts to know what it means to be really saved by the Lord. They did not consider what their condition would be after leaving their comfortable jobs. All they wanted was the knowledge of true salvation. They resigned their jobs and came back to their native place, Vanukuru, a little village in the state of Andhra Pradesh of South India. In a miraculous way, God sent his servant to the same village to visit them. And the result was ... the servant of God lead the couple into the light of salvation.
When they accepted the truth of the Gospel, their hearts burned with a passion to work for the Lord and proclaim the Gospel. They knocked every door with the gospel. At times... Welcomed. Rejected. Heard. Unheard. Loved. Hated. Insulted. Invited. Gradually the two became a small gathering of about 200 people. That's how it all began humbly at Vanukuru.
In 1954, the Lord called this couple to a place called Nuzvid, a spiritually dark and unreached region in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Bro. Bhushanam obeyed God's call and moved to Nuzvid with his family.
At Nuzvid, they faced much bitter experiences. They were rejected and humiliated by the people. They lived in dire poverty for over fifteen years. Literally staying without food had become a part of their daily life. At times they had become baby sitters, domestic helpers in the local houses just to fill their stomachs with a cheap half meal. But they were never discouraged. They pressed on in the work of the Lord. Theirs was really a sacrificial and dedicated ministry.
After a great tremendous ministry, Bro. Bhushanam was called into His glory on 9th January, 1970. By that time there were five Church congregations planted! And God was preparing Isaac, the eldest son of Bro.Bhushanam, to carry forward the ministry of his father and the mission of the Lord. |
The Revival |
Born and brought in this chosen family Bro. Isaac acquired the same passion of his parents to share the love of Christ in word and deed. He waited upon the Lord, fought in prayer as Jacob, for the fulfillment of the great promises given by the Lord to his father. The Lord granted a great assurance in his heart that he would see the mighty works of the Lord in the ministry. Since then the Lord has been using him in a special way as a mighty soul winner. Hundreds of people were saved and baptized. Many believers followed his example by surrendering themselves for the great commission. They sta rted planting churches in places where God lead them.
Today there are more than 300 churches in India, monitored by him under the banner of Love in Action Fellowship.
Bro. Bandi Isaac prayerfully brought his sons and daughters into various ministries. Some of these include; Church, television, literature, and music ministries. Other solutions for real change are offered through are Bethesda Integrated School, Bible Seminary and Children's Home.
All of the family members are involved in somekind of ministry and are playing a vital role in spreading the truth.
Mrs. Bandi Isaac is known for her charity and counselling. She has been rendering her services, especially among women, all over the LAF churches that are throughout the state. |
